I did the Quiet Account Workshop in April. Before that, I had no idea how many accounts we actually had โ€” my husband and I each had things we'd opened separately over the years. The session helped me put everything in one place. I left with a piece of paper I've kept on my desk since. It sounds simple, but that was exactly what I needed.

I went in a bit sceptical โ€” I thought I already had a reasonable handle on our finances. What I hadn't done was sit down and actually look at all of it in one go. The facilitation is unhurried, which I appreciated. There was no pressure. The one thing I'd say is that I wished the Saturday session ran a little longer, but overall it was well worth my weekend.

I joined the Monthly Rhythms Programme in March and finished it last month. I was expecting something more lecture-like, but each session was a real conversation. The routine cards have genuinely changed how I manage the start of each month. My husband has started using the calendar template too โ€” I didn't expect that.

The Second-Half Curriculum was the most useful structured course I've attended in years. The module on working with licensed professionals was something I hadn't thought about properly before โ€” when to go, what to bring, what to ask. I've since had a proper conversation with a licensed planner and felt far better prepared than I would have otherwise.

I was a bit nervous about attending something financial-related because I usually end up feeling like I've made all the wrong decisions. This was completely different. Nobody made me feel judged. The facilitator was clear about what the programme is โ€” education, not advice โ€” and that distinction actually put me at ease. I've signed up for the longer curriculum next.

I attended with my wife. We both found value in it, though for slightly different reasons. She got a lot out of the EPF and insurance sections. I was more interested in the conversation about talking with our adult children about money. That's a topic most financial programmes don't cover at all, and Owlspring handles it well.

Case Studies

Some Participant Journeys in More Detail

Challenge

A retired couple had accounts spread across four banks and two different insurance providers. Neither partner had a clear sense of what the other had arranged over the decades.

Programme

They attended the Quiet Account Workshop together. The facilitator walked them through each account category separately, then helped them build a shared one-page map.

Outcome

Within a weekend, they had a single document covering all accounts, flagged two insurance policies they hadn't reviewed in over a decade, and made a note to follow up with a licensed advisor.

"We should have done this ten years ago, but at least we've done it now." โ€” Couple from Bayan Lepas, May 2025

Challenge

A single participant in her late 50s found herself reviewing her EPF statement each year but not knowing what to do with what she was seeing โ€” the numbers were there; the context was not.

Programme

She enrolled in the Monthly Rhythms Programme. Over six evenings she built a routine around reviewing statements, organising her recurring obligations, and scheduling a quarterly self-check.

Outcome

Three months after completing the programme, she reported still using the routine cards. She had also had a first conversation with a licensed financial planner โ€” something she had been putting off for two years.

"The cards are still on my desk. I check them on the first of every month." โ€” Participant from Georgetown, Apr 2025

Challenge

A participant who had retired early found he had time to review his finances but no framework for how to think about the second half of life as a distinct financial period โ€” different concerns, different timelines.

Programme

He completed the full Second-Half Curriculum over 12 weeks, attending all three live cohort meetings and working through the printed reader alongside the workbook exercises.

Outcome

By the closing session, he had a clearer picture of his household's financial position, a written list of questions for a licensed advisor, and a record-keeping system he had built himself using the workbook prompts.

"The workbook is the best part. I've filled almost all of it." โ€” Participant from Batu Maung, May 2025
